Mr Monarch

Our poem this week is called 'Mr Monarch'. We read the poem through and discussed it. We looked at photos of Monarch butterflies and talked about their shape, colours and patterns. Then we used oil pastels, vivid markers and dye to create our Monarch butterfly artworks.

Children's Garden

We had a lovely time exploring the Children's Garden at the Botanic Gardens.

We learnt about invertebrates and how they are useful. We took our bug hunters' kits into the forest to search for invertebrates.

Then we found out about how bees and butterflies pollinate flowers. We took on the roles of the flowers, bees and butterflies to help us learn.

Waste Free Lunches

Last week we looked at all the rubbish we had in our lunch boxes. We thought about what happens to all our rubbish.

So we buried an apple core, a paper wrapper and a plastic wrapper in some soil to find out what will happen to it.

Now we are trying to bring waste free lunches to school so that we don't make so much rubbish.

Today in PE Room 29 children were learning batting and fielding skills with Lynn.
